Victory Day is one of the most important and proud days for our country. We celebrate it every year on 16th December. On this day in 1971, after a long and bloody war, we became free from Pakistan and got our independent country, Bangladesh. From that day, our name was written on the world map as a free nation. This day marks the beginning of our progress and success as a brave nation. We commemorate Victory Day with great respect and love.. We remember the brave people who gave their lives for our freedom. The day starts with gunshots in the morning. The whole country looks festive. People hoist the national flag on buildings. Many people go to the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar to show respect to the martyrs by offering flowers. Schools, colleges, offices, and organizations arrange meetings, discussions, and cultural programmes. TV channels also show special shows and documentaries on this day. Colorful lights adorn both government and private structures.

This day is very important for all Bengalis. It reminds us of the great sacrifices made by our heroes. It also reminds us to protect our freedom and work for the betterment of our country. To me, Victory Day is a symbol of courage, hope, and inspiration. This day will always stay alive in the heart of every Bangladeshi.

বঙ্গানুবাদ: বিজয় দিবস / আমাদের বিজয় দিবস আমাদের বিজয় দিবস হল ১৬ই ডিসেম্বর। প্রতি বছর আমাদের দেশে বিজয় দিবস পালিত হয়। একে ‘বিজয় দিবস’ বলা হয়ে থাকে কারণ ১৯৭১ সালের এই দিনে আমরা পাকিস্তানের কাছ থেকে স্বাধীনতা লাভ করেছিলাম। এক রক্তক্ষয়ী যুদ্ধের বিনিময়ে আমরা স্বাধীনতা লাভ করেছি এবং বাংলাদেশ বিশ্ব মানচিত্রে একটি স্বাধীন দেশ হিসেবে জায়গা করে নিয়েছে। এই ঐতিহাসিক দিনে আমরা আমাদের মহান অগ্রযাত্রা অর্জন শুরু করেছিলাম। আমাদের জাতি বীরের জাতি হিসেবে বিবেচিত। আসলে বিজয় দিবস আমাদের কাছে একটি মহান অর্জনের দিন। এই মহান বিজয় দিবসকে শ্রদ্ধাভরে স্মরণ করার জন্য আমরা ভাবগাম্ভীর্যতার সাথে দিনটি উদ্যাপন করে থাকি। যেসব শহীদরা দেশের জন্য জীবন উৎসর্গ করেছেন, তাদের মহান ত্যাগকে আমরা স্মরণ করি। তোপধ্বনির মাধ্যমে দিনটি শুরু হয়। সমগ্র দেশ উৎসবমুখর আকার ধারণ করে। প্রত্যেক কার্যালয়ে এবং বাড়িতে জাতীয় পতাকা উত্তোলন করা হয়। সর্বস্তরের মানুষ সাভারে অবস্থিত জাতীয় স্মৃতিসৌধে যায়। শহীদদের প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা ও ভালোবাসার প্রতীক হিসেবে তারা সেখানে পুষ্প অর্পণ করেন। বিভিন্ন স্থানে সভা, সেমিনার এবং আলোচনা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। বিভিন্ন টিভি চ্যানেল এই দিনটির জন্য বিশেষ অনুষ্ঠান সম্প্রচার করে। গুরুত্বপূর্ণ সরকারি এবং বেসরকারি অফিসগুলো রঙিন আলোয় সজ্জিত করা হয়। দিনটি বাঙালিদের জন্য একটি তাৎপর্যপূর্ণ দিন। দিনটি আমাদের সাহসী মানুষের ত্যাগের কথা মনে করিয়ে দেয়। দেশের স্বাধীনতা রক্ষার জন্য আমাদের দায়িত্বের কথাও এটি আমাদের মনে করিয়ে দেয়। আমার কাছে এটি একটি আনন্দ, আশা ও উৎসাহের দিন। এ বিজয়কে আমি অবিচার, অত্যাচার ও মিথ্যাচারের বিরুদ্ধে বিজয় হিসেবে দেখি। প্রত্যেক বাঙালির হৃদয়ে এ দিনটি চিরসবুজ হয়ে থাকবে।
